ARDMS license
Students are eligible to sit for the ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) licensing examination with a bachelor’s degree under Prerequisite 3A or with an associate degree under Prerequisite 1.
To acquire an ARMS license, students must pass two exams. The first is the SPI (Sonography Principles and Instrumentation), which is a 2-hour computer-based test consisting of 108 multiple-choice questions. The second is a specialty exam, which is a 3-hour test with 170 questions. Students may retake the exams every two months if needed.
